Responsibilities of Editors
• Ensure fair, unbiased, and timely peer review of all submissions.
• Make editorial decisions based solely on academic merit, regardless of race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs.
• Protect the confidentiality of authors, reviewers, and peer review content.
• Actively prevent and address research misconduct, conflicts of interest, and unethical practices.
Responsibilities of Authors
• Ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, not under consideration elsewhere, and properly cite all sources.
• Disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.
• Promptly correct significant errors if discovered after publication.
• Obtain all necessary ethics approvals for research involving human or animal subjects.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
• Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
• Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript and peer review process.
• Report any suspected ethical concerns (e.g., plagiarism, data falsification) to the editor.
• Recuse themselves if a conflict of interest exists.
Publication Misconduct
Scientific Navigation considers the following behaviors to be serious violations of ethical standards:
• Plagiarism (including self-plagiarism)
• Data fabrication or falsification
• Duplicate or redundant publication
• Inappropriate authorship or ghostwriting
• Undisclosed conflicts of interest
All allegations of misconduct will be investigated in accordance with COPE flowcharts. Where necessary, corrective actions such as retraction or correction will be issued.
Retraction Policy
Scientific Navigation takes publication integrity seriously. Retractions may be issued under the following circumstances:
• Proven cases of data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation
• Serious misconduct such as plagiarism, duplicate publication, or ghost authorship
• Breach of research ethics or lack of informed consent
• Findings deemed invalid due to later evidence
• Author-initiated retractions based on valid reasons, subject to editorial approval
All retractions follow COPE guidelines. Retracted articles will remain accessible with a clear "Retracted" label to preserve the scholarly record.
