Corrections & Retractions Policy
Corrections & Retractions Policy
The Journal of Intelligent Systems and Applied Sciences (JISAS) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. This policy outlines the procedures for handling corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern in accordance with best practices in academic publishing.
1. Corrections
A correction may be issued when an article contains errors that do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions, such as:
-
Minor errors in text, figures, or tables
-
Author name or affiliation inaccuracies
-
Errors in references or formatting
Corrections will be clearly linked to the original article and identified as such.
2. Retractions
A retraction may be issued when an article is found to be fundamentally flawed or unreliable due to:
-
Data fabrication or falsification
-
Plagiarism or duplicate publication
-
Serious methodological errors invalidating the results
-
Unethical research practices
-
Undisclosed conflicts of interest affecting the integrity of the work
Retracted articles will remain accessible for the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as retracted.
3. Expressions of Concern
In cases where potential issues are under investigation but conclusive evidence is not yet available, the journal may issue an Expression of Concern to alert readers while the investigation is ongoing.
4. Investigation Process
Concerns regarding published articles may be raised by readers, reviewers, editors, or other parties. All allegations will be handled confidentially and fairly, following the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authors will be given the opportunity to respond to concerns before any final decision is made.
5. Editorial Responsibility
The final decision regarding corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern rests with the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the editorial board and, where appropriate, the publisher.
JISAS is committed to transparency, fairness, and integrity in preserving the scholarly record.
