About the Journal
The International Journal of Sport and Health Sciences (IJSHS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing high-quality research at the intersection of sport, physical health, and psychological well-being. The journal provides a scholarly platform for the dissemination of theoretical, empirical, and applied studies that examine how sport, exercise, and physical activity contribute to physical, mental, and social health across diverse populations and settings.
IJSHS places particular emphasis on research exploring the relationships between physical activity and health outcomes, including physical fitness, disease prevention, rehabilitation, mental health promotion, psychological resilience, and overall well-being. By integrating perspectives from sport science, exercise physiology, sport and exercise psychology, public health, physical education, rehabilitation sciences, sports medicine, and behavioral health, the journal seeks to advance an interdisciplinary understanding of health through sport and movement.
The journal welcomes contributions that address both physical and psychological dimensions of health, including but not limited to physical performance and injury prevention, mental health and well-being in sport and exercise contexts, physical activity interventions, health-related quality of life, stress management, motivation, and psychosocial factors influencing participation in sport and physical activity across the lifespan.
IJSHS publishes original research articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, bibliometric and scientometric studies, theoretical and conceptual papers, methodological research, and applied studies with clear scientific, clinical, or practical implications. Submissions employing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches are encouraged, provided they demonstrate methodological rigor, ethical integrity, and relevance to the advancement of sport, physical health, and mental health sciences.
The journal is committed to maintaining high editorial and ethical standards in accordance with internationally recognized principles of scholarly publishing. All manuscripts submitted to IJSHS undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent experts in the relevant fields. The journal adheres to the guidelines and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and promotes transparency, academic integrity, and responsible research conduct.
As an open-access journal, IJSHS aims to enhance the global visibility, accessibility, and impact of research related to sport, physical health, and psychological well-being.
