Publication Ethics
The International Journal of Sport and Health Sciences (IJSHS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows internationally recognized ethical guidelines and best practices in scholarly publishing and adheres to the principles recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to IJSHS are expected to ensure that their work is original, accurate, and ethically conducted. All submissions must represent the authors’ own work and must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others through appropriate citation is required.
Research involving human participants or animals must comply with relevant ethical standards and regulations. Authors should confirm that ethical approval has been obtained from an appropriate institutional review board or ethics committee, where applicable, and that informed consent has been secured when required.
Plagiarism and Originality
IJSHS does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. Manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using appropriate detection tools. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, excessive overlap with previously published work, data fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation, constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Authorship and Contributions
Authorship should accurately reflect individuals’ contributions to the research and manuscript preparation. All listed authors should have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, data collection or analysis, drafting or revising the manuscript, and approval of the final version. Any changes to authorship after submission must be justified and approved by all authors and the editorial office.
Conflicts of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation or evaluation of a manuscript. Transparency regarding financial, professional, or personal relationships is essential to maintaining trust in the scholarly record.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to conduct reviews objectively, constructively, and confidentially. Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers should declare any conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts when such conflicts exist.
Editorial Responsibilities
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer review process. Editorial decisions are based solely on the academic merit, originality, and relevance of manuscripts, without regard to authors’ race, gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, or personal beliefs. Editors will take appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct, following COPE guidelines.
Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern
IJSHS is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. When errors, ethical issues, or misconduct are identified after publication, the journal will take appropriate actions, including the publication of corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern, in accordance with COPE recommendations.
